Face is an excellent, fast-paced, well-balanced map (with the exception of a few map bugs/walls), but I think it's missing a lower level. The hill is too congested and heavily favors snipers & forces teleporter shennanigans.

The Keg is well placed, risky to get to, but not hard to find.

Sniper positions are numerous and easy to reach.

Spawn points are problematic. They need to be better protected.

Lots of players complained about the redeemer, but its spawn frequency was low enough that it never made a huge difference (unless it was a 32 player frenzy).

I've seen some variations which add extra bases (4faces) and other stuff, but the original just never got boring. It's instant action, not wandering around for 2-3 minutes looking for someone to fight (looking at you, Hall of Giants). :)

Think of all the variations which never caught on -- Hall of Giants, of course, updates in 2003 and 2004 which were prettier but fell flat, and countless add-on maps which "felt' like Facing Worlds but never got the simplicity, speed and balance.

How about 3 levels of transparent paths above the current hill, one connecting the deemers, one connecting the sniper areas, and one connecting the tops :)

silver has made CTF Face 100 times better than the original and better than any other face map released. the time and effort he has put in to fixing this map has been unreal. His map should be used on any server that still has CTF face on its rotation or its flagship map.
