Unreal Tournament is quite configurable and has a host of ... oddities.

Removing Moon Textures

Post by viola » Mon Jul 10, 2006 5:30 pm

Can someone repost the file that removes the moon textures from Face. I've searched the older subjects...but the links were dead. Can someone upload it again for point out a specific location with a working link?

I only give it out to people I know. Maybe someone else would be willing to help.

Thanks, something that simple only takes maybe 5 minutes to slap together. I was just wasting time waiting for my little guy to wake up the other morning.

Someone should post it. :/ Reinstalled a bit ago when I was having that jaggedy issue and I lost it too.

learn to play with the moon ffs.

It's like people who remove smoke on the rockets, big deal there's a little smoke!

Reminds me of picky children removing food from their plates.

I play with stock UT, no tweaks, and I'm as good as one that has them. It's in you're head.

Dead thread revived but my sentiments exactly. You don't need all the tweaks to play the game. I have always played with the moon. Never tweaked or anything.

Th moon or the planet often are annoying when they backlight an opponent.

You need the "no earth" texture files. Tons of people have that. Just ask around and you can find someone to get it from.

When I get my new comp up (6core AMD) and a new comcast modem that seems to have died so I cant serve up $#!T, I can provide those. I used to use them alll the time. I hated the glaring blinding $#!T (especially as a sniper ;-) )

Whoah, top of the line! I was able to get my core i7 to a bit over 4GHZ. You may have similar luck. (Not a Dell, though -- homebrew stuff.) I have a 570, also. Love it, so far. 12 GB of RAM is insane! I still get by fine with 4. An SSD system drive rocks, too. Might kill a raid 0 setup. Are those drives 7200+?

Don't bother with McAfee junk though. Just install microsoft system essentials. It's better & free. Use http://ninite.com to load common progs and utils fast.

Nice systems, gentlemen.

My home-built desktop is unremarkable in every way except for 8+TB across five HD's :)

You know . . . they encode feature length 1080p movies in .mkv files of sizes well under 2GB now :)

I thought 8 Gig of RAM is insane. It still is. My old 2Gig Ram system was still more than plenty... As far as a desktop is concerned. (Programming - excessive use - virtual machines etc..)

So I am loving the 8gig. I can great 7gig virtual drives and experiment with virtual machines with huge ram drives. I can load half of my games in RAM drives. but ram drives seems to be the extense of its usage. RAM is not used that much other than disk caching for speed.

I work with the armedslack group in compiling applications that would normally compile on x86 machines on arm processor boxes like guruplug (google it) etc. I want to work on larger projects but the free open source alternative to VMware (for x86 only [hosts and VMs]), qemu for arm doesnt support memory larger than 286M like phones and smaller devices. Android supports more than 256 greatly but I dont know how yet. I think creating a ram drive on my 8gig machine and using it as swap (virtual mem) might do the trick for larger projects.
