Forum Hack Accouncement

Post by Renegadex » Sat Jan 28, 2006 2:24 pm

Forum "Hacks"

I'm looking at a number of phpBB (the forum software we use) enhancements ("hacks" -- not "cracks" -- there's a difference).
You might see some pop up over the next few days, if tests go well.

* Birthdays -- display current and/or upcoming birthdays (if members enter them) (you can enter without the year, btw.)
* Quick reply -- a stripped-down reply sheet appears at the bottom of each thread page so you can reply with just one click!

If you know of STABLE hacks you'd like to see added, please PM me.

The tests will be conducted in a mirrored forum.
If you'd like to help with the test, just PM me for the address.
The "mirror" forum may go up & down at whim, so don't post anything permanent there, of course.

I've had the quick reply enabled in these forums for a long time already :) One can enable it in Profile. ;)

Not sure why - hacks are .. usually depending on the ideas.. Legit. Lots of people hack all kinds of stuff. I saw a GREAT Hack for the iPhone today. Linux running on an iPhone as a wonderful hack.

Cracks are another topic entirely

Alot of noobies call "HACKS!" I'll start naming them if ya want.

Cracks are a different story - but we pickle lovers knew that.

Why would one want to run Linux on an iPhone? Wouldn't it pretty much "break" it from being a "phone", right now?

Well, it'll probably boot faster and play TuxRacer. :)

I dunno. My GP2X F-100 doesnt play Tux Racer. F-200 has touch screen. Both do mame well. I hear the Wiz (aka F-300) will have accelerated graphics support. I wonder what hardware the iPhone has?
